Astrolista Leicester

Leicester is not an official name, but where I bought the plant back in 2015 during the bi-annual UK Haworthia convention. It is a rare intergeneric hybrid between Astroloba corrugata x Haworthia (Tulista) marginata. It’s a beautiful, but slow growing plant and is happy to finally have some duplicates.

Plant Size: Offered is a well-established propagation, grown in a 7 cm pot. The photo is of the plant that is for sale.

About Astrolista

Astrolista is a botanical name created to accomodate the intergeneric hybrids between Astroloba and Tulista. This hybrid combination is rarely seen.

Caring for your Astrolista

  • Pot: Astrolista is best suited to cultivation in containers. Some species are also well suited to a protected spot in the rockery in frost free and lower winter rainfall areas

  • Soil: The plants prefer a well-drained soil, a mixture of sandy soil with some organic matter.

  • Light: The brighter the light the more colourful and compact your plant will be. However Astrolista can also tolerate slightly shaded positions.

  • Water: Let your plants soil dry out for a few days between watering. Rather underwater than over-water to avoid root-loss.
