Echeveria macdougalii 'Satang'
Origin: Mexico
Echeveria macdougalii is a small branched succulent shrub, this miniature branching species have a similar appearance to some of the American Sedum species, hence the name Echeveria sedoides which is a synonym of E. macdougalii. The plants are cute miniature, multi-branched shrublets that forms attractive specimen plants.
‘Satang’, also known as Candy is beautiful variegated form of this species we received from Korea. It is a relatively fast growing plant with no hassle, forming compact little shrubs, it is a great addition to the Echeveria collection as it is quite different in growth-habit and its lovely creamy grey-green foliage, quite eye-catching.
Plant size: Well established branched plants, grown in 7 cm pots are offered.
Caring for your Echeveria
- Pot: Echeveria does very well in containers or in the garden or rockery. They do well and look good planted in containers mixed with other succulent plants.
- Soil: The plants are very willing and can adapt to most soils, a well-drained growing medium with some organic matter works best.
- Light: The brighter the light the more colourful your plant will be. Although Echeveria will grow indoors, they prefer bright light conditions and should be keft close to a bright window.
- Water: Echeveria are drought hardy plants when well established, but they will grow their best with weekly watering, depending on your growing conditions.
