Encholirium diamantinum
Origin: Minas Gerais, Brazil
A very attractive xerophytic bromeliad, curved silvery leaves with large marginal teeth. This species was only described in 2012, it produces unusual green flowers.
Plant size: Well established, seed-grown plant in a 10 cm pot is offered. The photo is of the plant for sale.
Caring for your Xerophytic Bromeliads
- Pot: The species of Deuterocohnia does well as container plants or planted in the rockery. This species looks best planted in a bowl.
- Soil: The xerophytic bromeliads requires a more solid medium, a mix of potting soil and river sand works well.
- Light: The brighter the light the more colourful and compact your plants will be. These plants grow hapilly in full sun.
- Water: These plants are very drought resistant but flourishes with weekly watering.
