Haworthiopsis attenuata 'Lime'

Origin: South Africa

A very attractive and rather eye-catching, creamy-lime variegated cultivar of this species. It is a relatively slow-growing plant but worth the wait, as they form beautiful specimen plants. This cultivar prefers shadier conditons, this will also bring out its unique colouration.

Haworthiopsis attenuata is often mislabelled as H. fasciata in the trade. It is a popular plant known as the Zebra Plant for its attractive horizontal white bands on the back leaf surfaces.

Plant Size: Well established plant, grown in a 7 cm pot is offered. The 1st photo is of the plant for sale, the other photos are of older plants.

Caring for your Haworthiopsis

  • Pot: Haworthiopsis is well suited to cultivation in containers. Some species are also very well suited to a protected spot in the rockery in frost free areas.

  • Soil: The plants prefer a well-drained soil, a mixture of sandy soil with some organic matter.

  • Light: The brighter the light the more colourful your plant. However they prefer sunny conditions, they also do well in shadier positions.

  • Water: Let your plants soil dry out for a few days between watering. Rather underwater than over-water to avoid root-loss. Cut back on watering during the coldest and warmest months of the year.
