Hechtia lanata - Glabrous form

 

Origin: Mexico

 

A very attractive xerophytic bromeliad, broad recurved green leaves with large marginal teeth. This is a rare glabrous form of the species.

 

Plant size: Well established, seed-grown plant in a 15 cm pot is offered. The photo is of the plant for sale.


Caring for your Xerophytic Bromeliads

 

  • Pot: The species of Deuterocohnia does well as container plants or planted in the rockery. This species looks best planted in a bowl.

 

 

  • Soil: The xerophytic bromeliads requires a more solid medium, a mix of potting soil and river sand works well.

 

  • Light: The brighter the light the more colourful and compact your plants will be. These plants grow hapilly in full sun.

 

  • Water: These plants are very drought resistant but flourishes with weekly watering.
