About Pachyveria

Pachyveria is a hybrid genus that was established to describe the beautiful intergenic hybrids between Pachyphytum and Echeveria. The nothogenus was described in 1949 to accommodate the horticultural (and natural) hybrids.

The hybrids between these genera are very variable, ranging from plants similar in appearance to some Pachyphytum species and others more like Echeveria. These intergenic hybrids between members of the Crassulaceae family has brought to light, some very exciting new hybrids into the horticultural world.

Caring for your Pachyveria

Pot: Pachyphyveria does very well in containers or in the garden or rockery. They also do well in mixed planted containers.

Soil: The plants are very willing and can adapt to most soils, a well-drained growing medium with some organic matter works best.

Light: The brighter the light, the more colorful your plant will be. Although Pachyveria will grow indoors, they prefer bright light conditions and should be kept close to a bright window.

Water: Pachyveria are drought hardy plants when well established, but they will grow their best with weekly watering, depending on your growing conditions.
