Apricot Agate - Gemstone gravel

Origin: Botswana

One of the many exceptional agates Botswana has to offer. This is an unusual and lovely soft peach - apricot coloured form. Agate is a term variably used, but in essence, a banded variety of Chalcedony. The volcanic and metamorphic stones (often nodules) are made up of variably coloured layers of Chalcedony. Agates could also have rounded eye-like patterns, dendrites and various other features silicified within.

Photos were taken in bright sunlight to bring out the best colour.

Available in: 100 gram packets
