This minty green semiprecious gemstones originates from Zimbabwe. Aventurine is of the Quartz family, coloured by the inclusions of Fuchsite. Aventurescent a word created for its effect, is an optical reflectance effect seen in certain minerals. This is caused by the tiny shiny inclusions of Fuchsite. The words aventurine is derived from the Italian ‘aventura’ meaning “by chance”.
