A beautiful bright pink specimen of Cobalt bearing Dolomite on Calcite matrix. Seated on the pink dolomite are some lovely lustrous Heterogenite botryoids. A beautiful combination specimen of these two minerals.

 

Also known as Salrose, Cobaltoan dolomite is a rare variant of dolomite containing cobalt, giving it its vibrant pink colouration.

 

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), previously known as Zaire, is a large central African country known to produce some of the most amazing Copper, Uranium and Cobalt minerals, to mention only a few.
