Grape Agate


Origin: Mamuju Regency, West Sulawezi Province, Indonesia

 

Size: 72 mm  x 55 mm


Even though called Agate, this beautiful stone is a form botryoidal Chalcedony. It was discovered in 2014in Indonesia and was named for its appearance to clusters of grapes. These clusters of botryoids are usualy a lavender prurple but can vary to green and rarely white,

 

This is an exceptional specimen from newer material found with larger crystalline structure. There is an unknown Calcium Carbonate mineral that formed as well.
