Haworthiopsis attenuata 'Wowee'
Origin: South Africa
Wow, is the first word that comes to mind when meeting this plant for the first time. This is our best of the Zebra-banded forms of Haworthiopsis attenuata, the very well known, Zebra Plant. This exceptionally attractive cultivar originated from our propagations and was introduced by Kambroo Plants a few years ago. 'Wowee' is a very attractive, large-growing plant with light green leaves (in shade) to black-green leaves (in full sun), contrasted with exceptionally broad white bony bands.
Haworthiopsis attenuata is often mislabelled as H. fasciata in the trade. It is a popular plant known as the Zebra Plant for its attractive horizontal white bands on the back leaf surfaces.
Plant Size: Well established plant, grown in a 7 cm pot is offered. The first photo is of the plant that is for sale, the second photo is of an older plant.
Caring for your Haworthiopsis
- Pot: Haworthiopsis is well suited to cultivation in containers. Some species are also very well suited to a protected spot in the rockery in frost free areas.
- Soil: The plants prefer a well-drained soil, a mixture of sandy soil with some organic matter.
- Light: The brighter the light the more colourful your plant. However they prefer sunny conditions, they also do well in shadier positions.
- Water: Let your plants soil dry out for a few days between watering. Rather underwater than over-water to avoid root-loss. Cut back on watering during the coldest and warmest months of the year.
