About Sempervivum
 
Sempervivum is a small genus of about 40 species, known as Houseleeks and Hen and Chicks. They are small rosulate, leaf succulents forming mats, spreading by means of stolons.

Caring for your Sempervivum
 
Pot: Sempervivum does well grown in containers or in the rockery.
 
Soil: The plants are very willing and can adapt to most soils, a well drained growing medium with organic matter works best.
 
Light: The brighter the light the more colourful your plant will be, protect your Sempervivums against the harsh summer sun.
 
Water: Sempervivum can be drought tolerant when well established, but Sempervivums prefers more water than most other members of the Crassula family.
