Chrysocolla, Shattuckite & Quartz
Locality: Kaokoveld, Namibia
Size: 64 mm x 50 mm, 115 grams
A very showy little Quartz vug specimen in Chrysocolla, from the well-known Kunene region in northern Namibia. This area, including the Kaokoveld Plateau, has delivered some eceptionally beautiful Copper-ore specimens, mainly from small privately owned diggings.
Chrysocolla normally has a light blue to cyan (blue-green) color and is a minor ore of copper. It is secondary mineral that forms in the oxidation zones of copper ore bodies.
These beautiful select pieces of Namibian Copper ore minerals range from an exquisite light to dark blue. These pieces are of Shattuckite & Chrysocolla and some may also include Malachite, Mottramite and Quartz.
